On Saturday, September 21st, 2019, the Richard Family will be holding their 11th Annual Joubert Syndrome Foundation/Isabella Richard Golf Scramble and Benefit. Proceeds raised from this event will be donated to the Joubert Syndrome Foundation (JSF) to help further research, as well as helping families purchase much needed medical equipment and supplies.
Isabella (Bella as she is more commonly known) is an energetic, happy, very social 16 yr. old. Even though she lives with physical limitations, she doesn’t let them prevent her from doing the things she enjoys. She loves going to the movies and shopping with her older sister. She also loves to go out to eat, even though all she really wants is ice-cream. At home, she uses her manual wheelchair to help set the table at dinner time and is always the first person to put her used dishes in the sink. She is learning to become more independent and responsible for her own belongings every day. Her infectious smile will warm your heart and her hugs will warm your soul.
Over the past few years, with proceeds raised from this event, the Richard family has been able to continue to give Bella an opportunity for more independence.
Modifications to our home are constant. Recently, Bella's bathroom was renovated with a lift system, to make bathing easier for her, and mom & dad. 2 ramps have been installed, for more access in/ out of our home, via wheelchair.
